My Wordle...

Wordle: Whimsical

Monday, March 23, 2009

I've decided to move my sewing projects to a new blog, Whimsical Road. I've also started a new Etsy shop that I'll be stocking soon. The main reason is to seperate the crochet from the sewing items.

A new version of the skully clutch, this time I added a strap with a key ring and a snap closure instead of a button.
Sorry the photos aren't so hot.. the camera batteries were low.

Inside view.

A pink version.. I love, love, love the hearts in the eyes. This is a gift for a friend, shhh...

New stash, aren't they fab? I've become quite a fabric collector. Now I need to figure out how to store it all. Neatly.

New version of the last wallet. I like the fabric much more.. and I added a skully button, too! My checkbook fits in here nicely.

And below, I made a purse! I'm a bit more confident in my sewing abilities now. I used a pattern from the Spring 2009 Better Homes and Gardens Quilts and More magazine.

Plus, more stash!

New Crafty Project: Sewing!

I just bought a sewing machine!
M first attempt, a clutch that will fit cash and/or a checkbook. Needs embellisments, no doubt. I seem to be having some trouble in that area. Maybe learning to sew has drained my brain. I'm thinking that this needs a wrist strap, at least. Anyhow, here's the pics:

And a quick pic of my fat quarter finds.. this is only about half of what I've bought in the last two weeks. I LOVE fabrics, much more than my sewing abilities can keep up with.

Another sweet cupcake amigurumi.

I dropped this one for The Toy Society yesterday at the Starbucks in Middletown. I figured there would be more foot traffic there. I watched for awhile, sipping my grande White Chocolate Mocha. Almost every person that passed glanced at the bag with the toy and tags... but nobody investigated further. I'm sure it's found a home by now.

On another note, I made my first felt stuffie. I sewed him by hand, but I don't know much about sewing... I need to polish up my skills in that area, lol... but here he is:

My first Toy Society drop!
Mission accomplished.
I left him all by his lonesome between the Wurtsboro Library and Kathy's Tea Cozy, Wurtsboro NY. I hope he is loved!

Anyone that makes hand-made stuffies of any sort should look into making a drop of thier own.... this put a big smile on my face today.

Close up on the tags (I printed out an image onto 4x6 photo paper, punched a hole, and attached the text with some fancy fiber yarns) :
